Social media will get you in trouble every time. New York City police used afake Facebook profile to help them capture 15-year-old Kalief Jackson who is now charged in two robberies, one involving attempted rape and another involving sex abuse, along with six other cases of robbery and attempted robbery which have been referred to Family Court. SMH. Homeboy was out in these streets wildin!!!
According to a NY Daily News exclusive:
Back in January, cops noticed a robbery pattern of women being mugged by a perp claiming to have a gun and threatening to kill. The robberies began to stack up and were becoming increasingly alarming.
“If you say anything, I’ll shoot you,” the thief told a 28-year-old victim on Jan. 15 when he stole her cell phone and cash in Morningside Park, cops said.
Two days later, the suspect followed another 28-year-old victim into her Grand St. building in Lower Manhattan and demanded cash, sources said. When she handed over $2, he allegedly groped her genitals and forced her to touch his.
On Jan. 19, he trailed a woman into her Harlem apartment building at 3:40 a.m., threw her on the ground and tried to rape her, police said. He fled when she screamed.
But on Jan. 20, Jackson made a mistake when he followed a woman into her Lower Manhattan building and she called the cops, fearing he was up to no good, sources said.
Officers arrived within minutes and stopped and questioned Jackson, getting his name and address. They let him go when the woman declined to file a complaint.
Detectives later noticed Jackson’s description fit the suspect in the series of robberies.
A sergeant and an officer from 20th Precinct on the Upper West Side came up with the Facebook fakeout. They created a phony account for an attractive 20-year-old woman and sent Jackson a friend request.
“They have a dialogue, there’s a lot of back and forth, and flirting,” one source said. “But he’s also suspicious and at one point he says, ‘If you are the police, you’re real good at this.’ ”
He agreed to meet his dream girl on Jan. 22 in front of Martin Luther King Jr. High School on Amsterdam Ave. When he showed up, cops cuffed him.
Now police believe Jackson’s crime spree spread beyond Manhattan. On Wednesday, he was charged with robbing a 27-year-old woman in Astoria, Queens, on Jan. 17 of $16 and her driver’s license, police said.
SMH, this dude was stealing chump change, but the real serious issue was the attempted sexual assault. What the hell is wrong with him and where are his parents??? Homeboy gots the wrong idea about life. Let’s hope this brush with the law will prevent him from becoming more dangerous — and not just help him learn even more about thuglife.
