Mona Scott Young is reportedly being sided for copyright infringement for stealing the idea that would eventually lead to âLove & Hip-Hop.â
Apparently, 8th Wonder Entertainment, Nicki Lum-Davis, Trisha Lum have taken exception to Scottâs franchise and have taken their grievances to court. They charge fraud, breach of contract and breach of confidence. They say that developed a show called âHip-Hop Wives,â which included Tashera Simmons (DMXâs ex-wife), Chrissy Lampkin (Jim Jonesâ fiance), Mashonda Tifere (ex-wife of Swizz Beatz), and Debbie Lorenzo, Irv Gottiâs ex-wife.
The plaintiffs charge they pitched the show to VH1. After the idea was rejected, the concept was retooled and packaged as âLove & Hip-Hip.â
The suit was filed on March 10.
Neither VH1 nor Scott-Young has commented on the legal move at press time.
