(Street Life City News) Maybe this was the news that Lil Wayneâs manager Cortez Bryant was speaking on. A week after Bryant denied that Tha Carter V will be released on May 5th, the Cash Money Records head honcho Birdman gives a little more clarity.
While discussing Nicki Minajâs career with Billboard, Birdman stated that some of Young Money will appear on Nicki Minajâs new album that has no release date as-of-yet. While there is no firm release date for Nicki or Wayneâs album, Birdman assures that Tha Carter V will arrive before Minajâs third album, The Pinkprint:
This album is going to have a little bit of everything but more rap. I am sure some of the team will be on it. Sheâs still doing her thing, then getting features on it. Sheâs definitely coming this year. She hasnât picked a date yet. What she did for Young Money is totally different then what sheâs doing for her album. Sheâs more girly-er. âTha Carter Vâ will definitely come before Nickiâs [album].
The release date for Nickiâs new album may never be released until the day the album comes out, according to the rap superstar. Back in February, Nicki Minaj informed Angie Martinez on The Angie Martinez Show that âThe Pink Print is not going to have a release date. Youâll never know when itâs coming until it just comes.â However, Minaj did specify that her album release will not be identical to Beyonceâs, but similar:
Not all the way. I wonât set a release date until the album is really done and until Iâve lived with it for a long time⊠Iâm not going to pull a B, Iâm just going to chill for a second and see how it goes.
