  • Jay-z’s Tidal Picks Up “Money And Violence” Season 2 For 5 Million Dollars

Just 15 months ago, a group of independent filmmakers and amateur actors were able to spark a digital revolution with a groundbreaking new web series. The debut episode of Money & Violence was published on the Cloud9TV YouTube channel on August 7, 2014. Since then, the Brooklyn-based program has drawn 25 million total views from the nearly 50 videos posted online.

A trailer for season 2 of Money & Violence hit the internet in May, and fans immediately got excited for the street saga’s return. Over 14,000 loyal followers even donated over a $100,000 to a crowd sourcing campaign in order to assist with the funding for the next set of episodes.

But the big break came this summer when rumors began circulating that the Cloud9TV team planned to move their crime drama to the Jay Z led Tidal streaming platform. It was actually T.I. who make the announcement at the “TIDAL X: 1020” concert earlier this month that the 5 million dollar deal was publicly confirmed.

The main cast members of Money and Violence were also on hand at the Barclays Center that night as director/writer/actor Moise “Moetivation” Verneau told the crowd, “Season 2, January 2016 on Tidal. Brooklyn we did it.”

Tidal subscribers will get to see the storylines of Rafe (Moe), Miz (Ray Guercy), Kane (Ace General), and Shane (Du) unfold on a weekly basis. The entertainment site is also providing other exclusive Money & Violence content such as video extras and a music playlist. This should be an interesting season.

  • Street Life City President “Nyne Milli” Takes SLC To The Fashion Realm

With An Album Getting Ready To Debut, And A Battle Rap Preparation At King Of The Dot Next Year, Nyne Milli Always Finds A Way To Reinvent Himself And Branch SLC Into Other Entities. Not A Stranger To The Fashion World, Nyne Milli Has Always Been Up To Par With The Latest Urban Street Wear, And His Fashion Collection Is Impeccable. Nyne Milli Is Perhaps The Freshest Man Alive When It Comes To Rocking Fly Shit. The Way He Matches And Color Coordinates His Attire From Head To Toe, And The Stylish Accessories To Compliment Them. We Decide To Have A Sit Down Talk With The SLC President And Get His Thoughts On The SLC Brand.

Street Life City 1: What Made You Decide To Get In The Fashion Industry After All These Years?

Nyne Millirachi 1: Well I always been a fly nigga, since I was a young teen; I was heavily influenced by the hip hop culture, especially growing up I seen how Biggie had niggas rocking the Coogie Sweater and hats, Jay-z had niggas rocking the Yankee Fitted and the Throwback Jerseys. Back then when I was growing up, if you ain’t had certain name brand shit, you was getting clowned, you couldn’t walk in the school without somebody noticing what you had on your feet or what outfit you rocked, if it wasn’t popular at the time or if it was a bullshit name brand, you was getting dissed. So I fell for the peer pressure and I started following the trends, back then niggas was wearing Boss, Mecca, Enyce, Akedemics, those were the top brands, so I always made sure I was up to par with those trends, and not only that I’m from Harlem, so it’s in our culture to be fly. You ain’t never heard of a bum that came from Harlem. But to answer your question, I got into fashion because I figure why make somebody else rich, when I can design the shit myself and make money out of it. As I got older, I realized why am I paying top dollar for these brands and they don’t give a fuck about black people. What do they do for the urban community, absolutely nothing. So basically I’m paying you to advertise your brand, what kind of backwards hustling is that. I will not build the Pyramids just for the oppressor to take credit off my blood sweat and tears, not me I’m too smart for the bullshit.

Street Life City 2: How Long Have You Been Designing Clothes And How Did You Become So Nice At It?

Nyne Millirachi 2: Well I’ve always been into animation and arts design. Ever since I was young, I played a lot of video games from Madden, to NBA 2K, to WWE Wrestling Games, I use to always create my own players and bring them into my vision. I just always had a fascination of creating things and bringing them to life. I use to like the 3D graphics of certain video games and how they made them look so realistic, and I went to a Science and Arts Fair back in elementary school, and when I saw the behind the scenes stuff they did, I was like yeah this shit is excitement at it’s finest. But it wasn’t until I saw the movie Avatar, that I realized I wanted to get into Arts business and capitalize off of it. And I design websites for a living, I create different themes, I choose the colors, create my own fonts, and draw my own logos, so it was only a matter of time that the fashion industry was gonna pull me in.

Street Life City 3: With The Pressure Of Your Highly Anticipated Album “Welcome To Street Life City” Will This Distract You From Working On Your Album And Will It Delay Your Album From Coming Out?

Nyne Millirachi 3: This Is How I Look At The Overall Of Everything; I Feel Like Nothing Or No One Can Distract You But Yourself. If You Are Very Focused And Have A Passion And Work Ethic, You Can Complete Every Task In A Timely Manner. Who Says I Can’t Multitask And Do Both. When I Was Working At Smashburger, I Use To Grill The Burger, Set The Bread, Fry The Chicken, Onion Rings, And Fries, While The Line Was Around The Corner, All This While I Had To Go To The Back And Get More Food If We Ran Out Supply, And Prep The Vegatables, And Do Dishes And Clean The Store All This While Getting Out At The Time I Was Scheduled To Leave The Store. When I Use To Hustle, I Had To Break Down The Pound, Crush It Up, Bag It To The Right Amount, Weigh It On The Triple Beam, And Wrap It Safely And Hide It, All This While Avoiding The Strong Smell Of Weed To Flow All Over The House, Even With The Crack, I Had To Make Sure There Was The Right Amount Of Baking Soda In The Coke, When I Was Cooking. So Please Don’t Tell Me About Pressure, Cause I Live That Life. I Can Meet Deadlines Under Extreme Measures. As Far As My Album, It’s On The Way, But I Want To Venture Off Into Other Things, Cause Now A Days, The Fans Want To Connect With You Personally, Music Is One Element, But There’s Other Avenues I Can Use To Explore And Showcase My Talent. I Don’t Want People To Just Look At Me As An MC, I Want Them To See My Other Talents, And When They See What Else I’m Good At, They Will Pay More Attention To Me. If I Can Multitask In Different Areas I Will Always Remain Relevant In The Urban Community.

Street Life City 4: When Will The Products Be Available And How Do You Plan To Compete With Other Urban Brands?

Nyne Millirachi 4: Well Right Now I’m In The Blueprint Phase, I’m Just Designing Different Fabrics And I’m Testing Them Digitally. I Got SLC Hats, Jeans, Jackets, Tshirts, I’m Also Working On Street Life Diva For The Ladies, I’m Designing Dresses, Leggings, Heels and Purses For Woman. But I’ve Been In Some Talks With Some Fashion Distributors And I’m Going To Bring The Drawing To This Factory In Manhattan And Make The Products Come Alive And I’m A Sit Down With A Corporate Attorney And Figure Out How We Gonna Move Foward As Far As The Brand Is Concerned. As Far As The Competitive Nature Of The Fashion Industry, There’s Always Gonna Be A Demand For Hip Hop Wear, It Just Depends On Price And Style. There’s Not Too Many Urban Brands That’s Getting Worn These Days, Nobody Wears Roc A Wear, Nobody Wears Sean Jean; Fubu, Akedemics, Enyce, Are What People From Other Countries Wear, And They Sport That Brand Harder Then The Average African American. NIggas Are Dying Over Jordans, Kanye Clothes Are A Bunch Of Bullshit And They Are Too Costly, And Slowbucks Had A Good Run, But After That Incident With 50 Cent At Summerjam, People Are Slowly Turning Away From Him. So This Is The Time I Can Make My Move And Capitilize Off The Urban Market. Once The Product Is In Physical Form, I’m A Take 50,000 Out Of My Own Money, Hire A Street Team, Set Up Some Fashion Shows And I’m A Attack The Market From There.

Street Life City 5: Lately You’ve Been Seen In Brooklyn Courtside At The Nets Game, There’s Been Rumors Of You And NBA Star Jack Jarrett In Talks About A Business Deal For SLC, Is There Any Truth To That?

Nyne Millirachi 5: Me And Jack Jarrett Go Way Back, We’ve Been Close Freinds For A Long Time, He’s A Fan Of My Music And He Supports My SLC Movement, I Always Knew He Would Be A Star Player, And God Willing I Hope He Leads Brooklyn To A Championship This Year. I Go To All The Nets Game, I’m A Big Supporter Of The NBA, And Besides I’m From New York, So Ofcourse I’m A Support The Home Team. But Me And Jarrett Is Working On A Partnership For SLC And We Are Working On A Sneaker Deal With Nike Where We Can Put Out Some Exclusive Feet Wear. But Other Then That, Catch Me At The Nets Game, Probably Sitting Next To Hova, Nigga I’m Some Spiked Out, I Could Trip A Referee Lol.

Street Life City 6: Is SLC Gonna Go To A Major Corporation Or Will It Stay Independent?

Nyne Millirachi 6: Well It Depends On The Situation And What Is Being Offered. If They’re Talking About Millions Then I Might Consider Having A Meeting With Them, But If It’s A Bullshit Number I Can Make Independently Then I’m Not Gonna Waste My Time. Because There’s Nothing A Major Corporation Can Do For Me Besides Loan Me Money That I’m A Have To Pay Back With Interest. My Website Is Doing Heavy Traffic, I Make A Nice Change Off That Alone, My Battlerap Views Is Up, And My Facebook Popularity Is Up There, I Already Know What Demographics To Cater To. I Prefer The Independent Route, Cause Ain’t Nobody Gonna Tell Me How To Run My Company That I Built And Designed Myself. Because The Minute Somebody Or Something Invests Capitol Into You, They Feel Like The Can Infiltrate And Control Your Movements. Sorry I’m Not A Puppet, Their Won’t Be No String Pulling Over Here.

Street Life City 7: What Do You Want To Do With SLC As A Brand?

Nyne Millirachi 7: Take Over The World, I Want That Donald Trump Money. You See Trump Got His Hands On Everything From Casinos, To Hotels, Gold Club, Malls Etc. I Want To Created SLC Amusement Park, Street Life City Kitchen, SLC Headphones, And Expand The Market To Wherever I See There’s Gonna Be An Increase In Revenue And Sales. But More Importantly, I Want To Give Back To The Urban Community, Feed The Homeless, Create Jobs And A Legacy That Is Gonna Be Remembered For Generations To Come.

  • The 40/40 Club Racks Up Violations After NYC Health Department Inspection Last Month

The New York City Health Department hit Jay-z 40/40 Club with violations for its faulty plumbing and sewer system and for not  properly cleaning surfaces where food is prepared.

The latter violation, deemed critical, was among the food prep lapses health department officials found after they inspected the restaurant and lounge Sept. 8.
“Food contact surface not properly washed, rinsed and sanitized after each use,” health officials wrote, “and following any activity when contamination may have occurred.”

The club – where presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton attended a fundraiser last week – was also cited for a poorly installed and maintained plumbing system that allowed liquid to collect in the kitchen area’s floor. The 40/40’s sewage disposal system is also “in disrepair or not functioning properly,” according to the health department’s inspection report.

Despite the violations, the lounge scored nine points, enough for it to earn an “A” rating. Restaurants can get an “A” if they get 13 points or less, a “B” for 14 to 27 points and a “C” for 28 points or more.

The 40/40 Club’s latest inspection is a huge improvement from its health inspection last June, when it racked up 55 points – enough violations for a “C” – after officials found evidence of mice, use of banned pesticides and that the club wasn’t properly protected from vermin. The health department also said cold foods weren’t being kept chilled, food was being prepared in a way that it could be cross-contaminated, and kitchen staff weren’t checking if hazardous foods were being prepped and served at the right temperatures.

We’ve reached out to the 40/40 Club’s manager for comment.

Lil Wayne has officially been added to the list of celebrities who have let their sex tapes get into the hands of the public.

In the homemade tape, you can see Wayne with two chicks (who are both allegedly strippers) and he’s smashing them both with what seems to be raw dog, although he did have his socks on… but only on his feet.

  • The Game Says New York Rappers “Play It A Little Too Safe”

    game

The Game brought up how Compton and other California Rappers have a different level of aggression towards Hip Hop and are constantly trying to mold and change the culture. He expressed N.W.A and their war with police through lyrics at that time was proof on how only in New York do they filter their words and try to be politically correct. He went on to say how Snoop Dog introduced The Crip Walk and how he taught the world “The Blood Bounce. I wouldn’t call that influential but according to him New York has gotten soft.

The Game must forget there are still active artist like Fabolous & Nicki Minaj constantly wearing NY on their back, or maybe he feels they are just not influential enough. “We just waiting on your New God man, where he at?”, was part of the mini rant put on by The Game as he expressed his hate for New York Hip Hop. He goes on to shade French Montana for a second and then quickly try to smooth it out. He says With French Montana being from New York but he’s always in the mix with rappers like Chris Brown and other down south rappers hanging between Atlanta to Miami. “French is just wild like that, but not that of a lyricist, A Jay Z Or a Nas”.

  • Nicki Minaj On Meek Mill/Drake Beef: I Just Want It to Be Over

Nicki Minaj On Meek Mill/Drake Beef: I Just Want It to Be Over

Over the summer Nicki Minaj was arguably one of the most talked about celebrities. If she wasn’t ranting about her “Anaconda” video not being nominated for at this year’s MTV VMAs, she was seemingly caught in the middle of her boyfriend Meek Mill and Drake’s beef. During her latest interview with The New York Times, Nicki covers it all, and as the interviewer states after speaking with her, Nicki proves she is in fact, “a boss bitch.”

Miley Cyrus responded to the Queens rapper’s tweets about culturat appropriation and said she’s known to be “not too kind,” whichi prompted Nicki to call her out during the awards ceremony in late August. A shocked Miley ended up blaming the media for editing her comments, but in the end Miss Minaj brushed it to the side – that is, until now. Minaj said she called Miley out because the former Disney star didn’t fully understand where her anger was coming from. ”The fact that you feel upset about me speaking on something that affects Black women makes me feel like you have some big balls,” Nicki began. “You’re in videos with Black men, and you’re bringing out Black women on your stages, but you don’t want to know how Black women feel about something that’s so important? Come on, you can’t want the good without the bad. If you want to enjoy our culture and our lifestyle, bond with us, dance with us, have fun with us, twerk with us, rap with us, then you should also want to know what affects us, what is bothering us, what we feel is unfair to us. You shouldn’t not want to know that.”

Near the end, Nicki gets somewhat hostile as Drake, Meek Mill, Lil Wayne and Birdman are brought up. Up until this interview, “The Pinkprint” star remained mum on the beefs in her camp, more specifically the one between Drizzy and Meek. ”They’re men, grown-a** men. It’s between them,” she stated, adding that she hates what’s going on. “It doesn’t make me feel good. You don’t ever want to choose sides between people you love. It’s ridiculous. I just want it to be over.”

At that point, the Times reporter asked Nicki if she “thrives off” the drama going on, to which she cuts the interview short. Share your thoughts about Nicki’s comments with us below.

  • Boyfriend Threw Acid on Woman’s Face When She Tried Breaking Up with Him

    ifwt_Acid

An Atlanta man can be facing up to 20+ years in prison after throwing drain cleaner on his girlfriend’s face for breaking up with him.

44-year-old Andrew Fordham was found guilty on two counts of aggravated battery after the attack against his now ex-girlfriend, Christy Sims, that left her face disfigured for the rest of her life.

The incident occurred back in April of 2013. Sims claims when she walked into the bathroom to get a towel as he advised her to do, he was standing there with a bowl full of the industrial strength drain cleaner and then proceeded to chuck it at her face.

“I don’t think he was trying to kill me, I think he was trying to make me unattractive because he doused it right in my face,” Sims said. She also explained that Fordham failed to tell her that the 911 operator was telling him to have her wash her face off. Instead, he lied and told her to sit there and not touch it.

Listen to the disturbing 911 audio/video below.

  • Could It Be: Nicki Minaj, Drake & Tyga Join Forces With Lil Wayne In Lawsuit Against Birdman?

This is becoming a sticky situation. Birdman sending Lil Wayne birthday shout out and beyond and means absolutely NOTHING when money is involved. In fact, the messages are fueling the fire of the NOLA rapper. Not only has Wayne made attempts at signing Cash Money signee Chanel West Cost, but he’s also adding Drake, Nicki Minaj – two YM artists that Lil Wayne believes will hit the bricks from Ca$h Money soon – and Tyga to his on-going lawsuit against the hip-hop label.

It seems as though Wayne is not the only Young Money member that Birdman has pulled the rug from under; financially. In his lawsuit, Wayne claims that he has letters from Drake and Tyga that they were jilted on some funds, while in a separate letter from Nicki’s team, her producers were not paid. Although Young Money is a son label to Ca$h Money, Wayne says that the bigger of the two is responsible for paying all producers – let’s not forget producer DVLP asking for his money.

Young Money claims that they were supposed to get an advance around the tune of $100 million from Universal, however, the advance went to Ca$h Money, so they didn’t see one red penny.

Ca$h Money’s rebuttal on the accusations … LIES. They argue that Wayne was given a $20 million advance for Young Money in 2012; $12 million for Wayne’s solo album; and another $70 million in advances, royalties, marketing and recording costs for various Young Money artists.

Well, isn’t this just all over the place. I would really love to be a fly on the wall during these money meetings and court document drop-offs. Usually, in these type of cases, someone is lying. I just can’t wait to figure out WHO.

  • Judge Rejects Bobby Shmurda’s Latest Bid for Bail

Bobby Shmurda lost his latest bid for bail ahead of his upcoming drug and weapons charges trial, where he will be represented by a new attorney, Alex Spiro of the high-powered law firm Brafman & Associates. The “Hot Boy” emcee has been incarcerated since his arrest in December 2014, where the judge set his bail at $2 million.

During Shmurda’s hearing on Monday (October 5), the judge set the trial date for February 22, and Spiro asked for the rapper to be released ahead of the trial. However, Special Narcotics Prosecutor Nigel Farinha argued that the case had gotten stronger while Shmurda has been in jail, and he pointed out that the Brooklyn based rapper’s bail had been previously denied four times.

  • Akon on Not Signing Drake: He Didn’t Sound How He Sounds Today

A few weeks back, Fat Joe revealed he had the opportunity to sign Eminem before he hooked up with Dr. Dre – Em didn’t approach Joe with his demos once, but rather six times. The Bronx emcee called it one of his “biggest” regrets, as many would if they passed on the opportunity to sign an artist who’d become one of the biggest in the game – everyone except Akon, however, who had the chance but passed on signing Drake before he made it big.

During Akon’s interview with Montreality (around the 6:08 mark), the seasoned record producer talks about Drake’s timid ways during the beginning of his career. The guy he calls a “360 artist” these days “didn’t really let out too much” about himself back in the day. “He grew into becoming a performer,” Akon believes, comparing his shows pre-“Best I Ever Had” to his sold-out tours today. And I felt like I was the only piece that he was missing, but now that he’s in this position now I think his confidence has grown a lot.”

Right before Akon shares his thoughts on Kanye running for President, he admits Canadian rapper Kardinal Offishall brought Drake’s music to him but he wasn’t a fan. “I honestly did pass on him, because at the time he didn’t sound like what he sounds like today. I think he was at a position where he was finding himself,” he confesses.

In 2015, Drake “is the champ right now,” according to Akon. “Ultimately as time goes [on] people develop, they get better and they become the best because of things like that.” Watch and listen as he discusses Drake and more above.

  • Man Serving Murder Sentence Accidentally Released From Prison

Man Serving Murder Sentence Accidentally Released From Prison

The Louisiana Department of Corrections is in a heap of trouble after accidentally releasing a convicted murderer. Now a few days later, the police are on a wild-goose chase as the killer remains on the loose.

In 2013, 32-year-old Benjuiel Johnson was sentenced to 40 years after pleading guilty to illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and manslaughter charges. Prior to being released, Johnson had an outstanding battery charge from a previous incident involving a police officer, but was scheduled to be released on good behavior. On September 23, Johnson was discharged from the Dixon Correctional Institute and transferred to East Feliciana Parish detention center after a technical glitch left his recent charges undetected by officials. No one noticed the mistake until Monday, September 28, five days after Johnson posted $10,000 bond.

It has been three days since the oversight occurred – the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office, Plaquemine Police Department and the US Marshals have since issued a warrant for his arrest, but have yet to find any leads. Francel Johnson – Benjuiel’s mother – helped bail her son out of jail last week, thinking it “a gift from God” that he was released so early on in his sentencing. “It’s not his fault, it’s not his fault,’ said Francel. “He got released. You told him he was no longer your property, he bonded out, and now you’re hunting him like a dog, like he escaped from prison or something. But no he didn’t escape. You let him go. You all opened the doors and let him out of there.”

Louisiana DoC spokesperson Pam Laborde made it clear they’re “not trying to make excuses” for the massive blunder, as it was “something that should not have happened.” “On the rap sheet, there was information on there that should have prompted the records staff at DCI who was working on his case to at least call Iberville and say ‘hey I see something on it, I’m not sure what’s going on, I don’t have any paperwork on a conviction, but there may be something here, can you tell me what it’s about?” Laborde also made note that the person responsible for the mistake will face disciplinary action.

Once captured, Johnson will be forced to complete his 40-year sentence.

  • 50 Cent Threatens To Shoot Son On Instagram

Everyone knows that 50 Cent relationship with his oldest son Marquise Jackson isn’t the greatest. See what 50 Cent said to his son on Instagram before deleting the comment.

Marquise uploaded a photo on Instagram that read:

I ain’t never switched up on nobody, either you pushed me away, left me hanging, or proved to me how Un-loyal you are!! 💯

With the caption “That’s word to mommy.”

Fif responds with this comment on his son’s post.

word to Mommy Hun!!!🏃💨🔫 don’t play with me boy. Kanan

It’s clear that everything is not good in the Jackson family. 50 Cent lets his son know that he’ll shoot him unless he gets with the program. Of course we know 50 Cent will never shoot his own kid, but this shows the only way he can contact his son is through social media. Marquise probably stopped answering phone calls and text messages from the Queens rapper.

Their relationship has been rocky over the past couple of years. Allegations arose that Fif went two years without seeing his son and people started questioning his fathering skills. There’s also been a prior incident with 50 Cent going in on fans leaving comments about Marquise on 50’s Instagram.

Hopefully they can reconcile, because everyone deserves a father in their life.

  • George Zimmerman Retweets Photo of Trayvon Martin’s Dead Body

George Zimmerman Retweets Photo of Trayvon Martin's Dead Body

George Zimmerman is arguably one of the most hated men in America – and according to his Twitter page, the man who killed an unarmed 17-year-old man doesn’t care one bit.

On Friday, September 25, Zimmerman was sent a photo of a slain Trayvon Martin with the caption “Z-Man is a one man army.” He jubilantly retweeted it, thanking his supporters as he appears to do on a regular basis. The 31-year-old was acquitted of the murder of Martin two years ago, and has since been made into yet another infamous celebrity – autograph signins, boxing matches and all.

The retweet no longer shows up on Zimmerman’s page, but this isn’t the first heinous tweet that’s appeared on it. Obscene memes can be viewed throughout his timeline, as well as photos of his injuries from the day he gunned down Trayvon Martin. “As much as I love owning all you trolls I have to work… On my tan! Tell ‘Karma’ she’s worthless, God protects me,” he tweeted out hours ago as he laid on the beach, cigar in hand.

  • Meek Mill’s Baby Mama Pleads Guilty To Stealing $17 Of Food At Grocery Store

Looks like Meek Mill’s baby mama has gotten herself into some legal troubles.

27-year-old Fahimah Raheem was busted stealing $17 worth of food from ShopRite back in September of 2014. Security at the store caught her stealing two $6.99 containers of hot food from the buffet area and a $2.50 bag of frozen pineapples while doing a food shop with her two sons.

She used her ShopRite Price Plus card – which allowed the police to track her down – when she used the self check-out feature to pay for some of her items, but the stolen ones she slickly put in another bag and walked right out of the store.

At first, she denied ever being in ShopRite and said that someone else was using her Price Plus card. However, video surveillance doesn’t lie. She then asked if she could just pay ShopRite back the $17, but the store wanted to press charges on the rapper’s BM.

Fahdy plead guilty to stealing the food in court and has been hit with two years probation, 24 hours of court-mandated community service and to pay the $17.32 back to the popular grocery store chain. She was also charged with stealing on two other occasions in 2004 and 2010, so it is not a completely new thing for the Philly native.
