10 Hip-Hop Heads George Zimmerman Should Get In The Boxing Ring

       By now you have read the headlines about George Zimmerman and DMX. The pair will supposedly square off in a three round “celebrity boxing” event for PPV. The announcement comes on as many reminisce on the short life of Trayvon Martin, who Zimmerman killed two years ago at the age of 17. Now, DMX recently revealed that he’s not 100% confirmed for this fight so we”ll see.

But, it looks like Zimmerman wants to also metaphorically kill another brother too, right? It sure seems like it to me because DMX’s topsy turvy career and life cannot withstand a domeshot like this right now. We need him stronger and healthier with his mind on his music and family.

That said, I believe there are several other opponents that George Zimmerman could consider, rap guys that would make this “bout” infinitely more interesting. And we could even feel that there’s some justice served as well.

THE GAME

The Game has “the game” on lock in several ways, but one of them is simply that he cares. He got Trayvon Martin tatted on his body and he’s passionate about African American people. Moreover, he’s passionate – perhaps to a fault – about justice. And when he sees wrong, he’s the type to make it right. Unlike some of the other rappers, he’s going to beat Zimmerman to a pulp and also pay homage to Trayvon. There is a reason why Zimmerman accepted and then rejected The Game as a prospect.

TREACH

One time Treach of Naughty By Nature rapped “Guard your grill knuckle up, I ain’t the type to give up.” Treach is swift with his blows and even though he’s a bit older, he’s very much in shape. Lastly, he used to carry a chainsaw so perhaps he’d consider dusting it off and chopping Zimmerman up into little pieces for rapid dogs to consume. (And Treach ran with Tupac so you already know what’s up.)

FREDDIE FOXX

Freddie Foxx has been knocking out dudes for decades. His hands are like sledgehammers and his nickname is Bumpy Knuckles. Zimmerman wouldn’t last a round with Bump. In fact, Bumpy used to box a bit and knocked a few rapper dudes out in the 1990′s. But, these days he’s still into martial arts and isometrics. He’s pretty much a nightmare if you are on the wrong side of his generally cool temperament.

WILLIE D

Now, Willie D of the Geto Boys is the sort of dude that would kill George Zimmerman in the ring, which means you need a REALLY good ref. Why? Lets start off by saying that Willie was one a professional boxer. But, he also has a decidedly deep moral compass, especially when it comes to racial inequities. They don’t call him “Wille Handz” for nothing. He wrote a song called “F**k The KKK” for God’s sake and a song

COMMON

I noticed George Zimmerman tried to call out Kanye West. See, Zimmerman is a punk and he’s only picking people he thinks he can beat. That’s his M.O. Enter Common. To the average dolt, i.e. Zimmerman, he looks to be comparable to Kanye West. The only thing is people that know Common know that Com has a storied history in ChiTown that would make him a great candidate to serve up Zimmerman an arse-whipping on a platter.

HONORABLE MENTIONS

CHIEF KEEF

The fact is…I have no idea how well Keef can throw hands. I just know he’s got other skills that would serve Zimmerman well in a “fight.”

KILLER MIKE
His name says it all. But, Micheal Render is also extremely smart so after he does away with George Zimmerman, he’s also going to educate the crowd on why he had to do it and educate Americans on racial injustice.

ICE CUBE

People think Ice Cube has softened up over the years, but catch him when the bright lights are no longer on him, that guy gets serious! You just don’t re-program some of the stuff that Cube has rapped about. He’d totally kick Zimmerman’s butt.

ADISA BANJOKO

Adisa Banjoko is a name that only the purest Hip-Hop aficionado knows, but he’s the real deal. Decidedly a man of peace, he’s also an accomplished MMA fighter. Now, he’s not the guy that is going to beat Zimmerman to a pulp, but he may take the boxing match to the floor. Yeah, he’ll leave with Zimmerman’s limbs in a bag and then go play chess with The RZA. (Seriously, Adisa’s already stated on the record that this whole fiasco is a bad idea.)

NOBODY

The 10th is NOBODY. George Zimmerman, a trained MMA enthusiast, opted to shoot a kid instead of putting his hands and body to use. Basically, he doesn’t deserved to get acclaim in the ring when he’s not built like that at all. So, basically nobody should fight him. He’s not worth it.
